About Boagworld

Boagworld began as the personal blog of Paul Boag, where he mainly discussed web design issues. However, Paul quickly discovered that writing was hard work and so turned to the emerging medium of podcasting.

Although Paul has no problem speaking (it is shutting him up that is the problem) he still found podcasting harder than expected. Never a great fan of hard work, he turned to Marcus Lillington for support. Paul and Marcus had worked together for years and founded web design company Headscape. It was this existing rapport that worked so well. Their constant banter caused a steady growth in listeners.

Boagworld is now the longest running and most popular web design podcast.

Paul on stage at Future of Web Design

The show itself covers all aspect of web design. It is not primarily a technology show (although it does cover that). The emphasis is on news, features and interviews, intended to help those running websites as well as designers and developers.

The weekly show is accompanied by regular blog posts, useful links and a thriving online community. It has come a long way since its birth in 2005.

The boagworld team

Despite what Marcus and Paul may think, they do not run the show single handed. Boagworld would not be possible without the help of the following people

Ryan Taylor

Ryan is the shows Producer ensuring everything runs smoothly.

He is a Web Designer and Developer working for Leeds College of Art & Design as a one man Web Team. He's passionate about all aspects of the industry focusing on web standards, accessibility, and the "proper" way of doing things. You can find him at his personal site.

Paul Stanton

Paul researches topics and news stories for the show.

'Stanton' as most people call him - is a designer SLASH developer working for the University of Leeds, battling daily against the red tape and restrictions associated with higher education and trying to educate them in the ways of web standards. Stanton's completely fueled by black coffee, and, quite aptly, you can find him at coffeepowered.co.uk

Anna Debenham

Anna is our resident technician responsible for making the show live.

Anna is a lowly sixth-former studying Graphics, ICT and Media at a school in Hertfordshire and is planning to study towards a degree in Computing and Design with the Open University later in the Summer. Her website is maban.co.uk ...and apparently it is held together with virtual sticky tape.
